James Kohout was born and raised in a suburb about 30 minutes outside Buffalo, NY. After graduating high school he took his passion and love for animals to the University of Massachusetts - Amherst where he studied Animal Science/Pre-Vet Medicine. When James rescued his first dog at 23, Tobias, his mindset on wanting to be a veterinarian completely changed. Since Toby was rescued from a bait fighting ring- there were behavioral issues that needed to be addressed. This is where James fell in love with training and instead of having to euthanize as a vet he could help with one of the top reasons why animals are sent to the rainbow bridge- behavioral.
He established his business in 2006 in Stow, Ohio. By 2008 James graduated from National K-9 School for Dog Trainers at the Masters level. He acquired his certification in: scent detection, soft mouth retrieval, puppy development, behavior modification, police K9, tracking, service K9 training and personal protection. With this wide variety of training, James is equipped to help with all type of behavioral issues, breeds and specialty K9s.
James now resides in Colorado and has trained dogs from Massachusetts to California. He now lives off the grid and travels the country to offer his services to everyone and anyone in need.
